Father's Day is June 19th! Have you figured out what you're going to do for your dad to prove your love with chocolate?
If not, we can help. We've taken the initiative to do some very serious scientific research to find out the chocolate items that all dad's love most. By scientific we mean that we've asked all of our dads, and all the dads we know, and all of the people we know who have dad's...
As a great bonus, not only will all the dads in your life be VERY happy to get chocolate, they'll also be touched that you took the time to MAKE them something special this Father's Day. And making Farther's Day chocolate is a GREAT activity to get the kids involved in too!
Ideas That Are Perfect For ALL Dads:
Make Molded “Happy Father’s Day” Chocolates
Nothing says "I LOVE YOU DAD!" like chocolate that actually says "I LOVE YOU DAD!" (Or something similar). Choose your favorite Father's Day Molds Here, then make a ton of beautiful chocolates. You'll want to use Bada Bing Bada Boom Candy Melts to make your candy (unless you're tempering, in which case you'll want to use V125 Indulgence Couverture Chocolate). Making perfect molded chocolate is very easy, so it's a great Father's Day project for beginners and advanced chocolate candy makers alike. If you've never done it before you can find directions in our chocolate candy making guide.
Another great option is to choose a simple mold like a square, make your molded chocolates, and then, after they are finished use Drizzle & Design Chocolate to write a letter on each individual piece so that you can spell out a personalized message. (This is how to make chocolates like what is in the picture at the top of this page).
Make A Giant Piece Of Bark With A Personalized "Happy Father's Day" Message On It
Line a cookie sheet with heavy weight dipping sheets or wax paper and use his favorite flavor of chocolate and favorite topping to make a large piece of bark. When the chocolate has set decorate with Drizzle & Design Chocolate in his favorite colors. Write out “Happy Father’s Day” or “World’s Greatest Dad” in your decoration. (You can find a bark recipe here).
Go Crazy With Caramel
Our
extensive research shows that father's have an abnormally high obsession
with
the combination
of caramel and chocolate. We were shocked that Chocolate
Covered Caramel Apples are VERY high on the "Father's
Day Wishlist" of every dad we spoke
with. The good news is that chocolate covered caramel apples are one
of the easiest things you can possibly make. So it's a win-win situation
for everyone!
Other caramel items that were extremely high on the Father's Day Wish Lists:
- Turtles - Get Recipe
- Caramel Krispie Bars - Get Recipe
- Caramel Filled Chocolates -- You can make filled molded chocolates with caramel inside, or roll Chocoley caramel in balls and dip it in your favorite Chocoley chocolate.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
It's a given fact that all dad's who don't have peanut allergies are addicted to Peanut Butter Cups. Get the recipe here.
Ideas For Sports Obsessed Dads:
Do you have a dad in your life that LOVES his sports? We thought you may! That's why we came up with a special list of ideas (and twists on the above ideas) that are perfect for the sports-addict dads in your life.
Decorate Anything You Make With His Favorite Team's Colors
Whether you made molded chocolate candy, bark, turtles, caramel apples, or anything else, it's easy to add specially formulated chocolate coloring oil to white chocolate to make any item spring to life with team colors. You can also get White Drizzle & Design Chocolate that comes packaged with any of the coloring oils. This idea is also great with your dad's alma mater's colors.
Turn Your Creations Into A Sports Ball!
With a little creativity you can turn almost anything you make into the ball for his favorite sport! This works especially well for chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered caramel apples, cake balls, brownie lollipops, truffles, cream center filled chocolates, chocolate covered cookies, and popcorn balls.
Here's some tips for the most popular balls:
Baseballs- Use white chocolate as the main visible chocolate. After the chocolate has hardened draw in the laces with Drizzle & Design White Chocolate and Red Coloring Oil.
Footballs - Use milk or dark chocolate as the main visible chocolate. After the chocolate has hardened draw in the laces with Drizzle & Design White Chocolate.
Basketballs - Use white chocolate colored orange for the main visible chocolate. After the chocolate has hardened draw in the laces with Drizzle & Design Dark Chocolate.
Soccer Balls - Use white chocolate as the main visible chocolate. After the chocolate has hardened draw in the black spots with Drizzle & Design chocolate colored black.

The Easiest Idea Of All:
Dust off your chocolate fountain and fire it up. Okay, this isn't actually a "gift" but it's a great way to celebrate Father's Day! In fact, you should really use your fountain on such an important holiday even if you're making other chocolate too! Don't forget the Just Melt It! Fountain & Fondue Chocolate!
